Marissa Whitter is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional in Florida, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Alaska. She earned her master’s degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University and her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
Marissa specializes in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, addiction, and anger management challenges. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly heard, understood, and respected, no matter their life experiences.
Her approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. Marissa believes that meaningful change begins with empathy, active listening, and genuine human connection. She works alongside her clients to explore both present concerns and past experiences, offering thoughtful feedback, encouragement, and practical tools for growth.
Marissa also values the importance of community and support systems, recognizing that healing often happens both inside and outside the therapy room. She integrates compassion, affirmation, and empathy into every session, empowering clients to build resilience, gain insight, and create lasting change.
Outside of her professional work, Marissa enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets. She loves traveling and creating new experiences that enrich her perspective and connection to others.
